Prayer is important for many reasons. Above all, it helps build a treasured relationship with God and we gradually learn how to overcome temptation, determine God’s will and accomplish God’s work. The apostle James says that “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16). Put simply, prayer works! It heals, protects, teaches and is powerful in fighting battles that are often spiritual.
